2023: APC National Chair Rejects Electronic Transmission Of Results

According to Tribuneonlineng, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed strong opposition to using technology in the upcoming general elections.

When he met with a delegation from the Commonwealth Pre-Election team on Wednesday at the national secretariat of the ruling party in Abuja, the former governor of Nasarawa State aired his worries to Ms. Abiola Sunmonu, Advisor and Head of the African Section, Political Team of the Observer Group, who was present with her team.

Additional research indicated that several opposition political parties had recently warned that the INEC National Chairman was under strong pressure from some sources to drop BVAS and IReV ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Speaking to the Commonwealth team, the APC Chairman stated that because Nigerians have not yet had reliable electricity from the Federal Government, allowing electronic results transmission would be a risk. We are taking a big step by transmitting election results in real-time, so it’s important that we are prepared to deploy some of these technologies, he said. First, he said, “I was honored to serve as a senator.

“To communicate outcomes, Nigeria’s entire nation” I’m not sure if the network covers it, but I am aware that there is no network in some areas of Abuja, and that from now until February, a significant portion of the nation will be without electricity.
