Anambra Begins Recovery of Illegally Acquired Government Lands

Anambra State Task Force on Recovery of Government Land has commenced demolition of illegal structures built within the Isuanocha Community Secondary School land at Isuanaocha, Awka North local Government Area, after a two week removal notice elapsed.

It was discovered that over five acres of land, which originally belonged to Community Secondary School, Isuaniocha, were illegally sold, with buyers already erecting various sizes of structures on it.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Physical Planning Board (ANSPPB), Chike Maduekwe who was on ground during the demolition said the exercise is being carried out at the expiration of removal notice given to illegal developers, saying it will be a continuos exercise so as to deter others, as the issue of land encroachment and grabbing is becoming an issue in the state.

The task force was made up of officials of Physical Planning Board, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade) and other security agencies.
